Dec’16 Tested using fswebcam. With powered hub, detected out of box as Video0 V4L device. Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US. Arch was updated on 17th July Not working at all. Works with guvcview , but not with luvcview.

Feb 15, Creative Labs Creative Webcam. Dec’16 Tested using fswebcam. Works out of the box at the tested resolution. RasPi freezes reboot needed after a few minutes of using Motion to stream tested with external power.
Cheap no name webcam from Logitfch. Picture stops after a few seconds in xawtv under Arch Linux and xawtv reports libv4l2 errors.
Works with guvcviewbut not with luvcview. Logitech QuickCam E d: Works out of the box directly plugged in to the raspberry pi.
Runs on the model B without a powered hub rated mA. Logitech Webcam C V-U d: Does not appear to require a powered hub.
Has issues capturing images at higher than default resolutions using motion – Arch and Debian. Please contribute with your own experiences!
